Our preschool classrooms are designed to meet the changes and needs of three to four years old preschool children.
Beauty and order play important roles in creating a child-size atmosphere that is carefully designed to encourage curiosity and love for learning.
Sovannaphumi kids school offers each child the opportunity:
In preschool class, children are taught to walk and move with self-awareness, to gain an understanding of mathematics through the use of sensorial and practical learning materials, to gain indirect preparation for literacy through the use of concrete-practical Montessori materials, embrace knowledge and comprehension of how the world works, and day-to-day inspiration to be creative with art and music.
They also develop social skills such as politeness, compassion, and self-discipline, as well as the ability to respect one another and participate in classroom activities. Furthermore, develop healthy relationships with teachers and friends and learn to take care of themselves.
Each school day includes active outside play time in our safe and child-friendly play areas.
Learning Areas:
The purpose of these activities is to help children to get confident and independent with activities in their everyday life. But also, to enhance coordination, concentration, and indirectly prepare them for reading and writing activities.
The focus of sensory materials is on assisting students in refining their visual, tactile, smell, taste, and auditory senses. This helps children to organize their sensory impressions, fine-gross motor skills, concentration, and perception of the world by distinguishing various features and structures around them.
Mathematics materials focus on the teaching and learning of abstract mathematical ideas and relationships. Like most Montessori teaching methods, mathematics is entirely hands-on to help children learn how to count and how to associate numbers and quantities. Math activities fall into six categories: counting and decimals system; memory work; concrete abstraction; arithmetic tables; and geometry. Kids are introduced to complex processes and ideas as they are ready.
Language materials are designed to provide children with knowledge and skills to develop and build their understanding of language and vocabulary. These hands-on materials are also used to direct children’s exploration of oral communication, reading, and writing.
This part of the curriculum includes lots of things such as geography, science, and
nature and focuses on making the world in which children are growing up accessible to them.
This exploration will lead to discovery, knowledge, and understanding of their environment both natural and man-made. It also highlights the adaptability of the natural world, its interdependence, and our responsibility for it.
The creative curriculum is designed to address objectives specific to social-emotional, physical, language, literacy, cognitive, and mathematical development, expressed through art and craft, music and movement, role play, and student projects.
